The Namaqualand daisies are set by the winter rainfall, not the calendar. A good soaking winter brings a strong, early show; a dry one delays and thins it. The flowers open to the sun, so they show best on a bright day from roughly 11am to 3pm — an overcast morning can keep them shut entirely.
